Revolution in cancer care saves thousands

The chance of dying from cancer has fallen significantly in Britain despite an increase in cases, according to a landmark study that hails enormous progress in detection and treatment.
Death rates have dropped by 10 per cent since 2003, meaning that tens of thousands of lives are being saved each year. Experts said that the figures from Cancer Research UK were a cause for celebration and put the success down in part to national screening.
