University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) holds her first year matriculation today, 6th day of Feb., 2016, for the 2015/2016 academic year.
Students living outside the campus had their fun unlike those staying in the school’s hostels. They were free to perform the usual ‘initiation’ ceremony to all the first year students living around.
Our reporter gathered that the student hostels were unusually quiet with no fun activity going on. An anonymous student told our reporter that the quietness was because of the strict warning the school administration issued earlier against any activity regarding to first year students.
“First year initiation ceremony is fun. We make them dance to selected songs we’ve composed for them, teach them the school’s anthem, spray water on any defaulter etc. ”
It is unfortunate these first years will never tell such stories in their lives as they have not experienced it, He said concluded.
